Asahi Beverages has unveiled a new $60m canning line at Australia’s biggest brewery at Yatala, Queensland to meet the growing demand for cans over stubbies.

Up to 400 million cans of Australia’s best beers will roll off the new line each year, including Great Northern, Victoria Bitter and Carlton Dry.

Queenslanders are being urged to raise a glass and much-needed funds for one of the state’s worst flood disasters. 

Great Northern launched The Great Shout. It will see the brewer partner with around 200 Queensland pubs and clubs to help flood victims in the state’s centre and west by raising at least $200,000, with expectations of more.

Asahi Beverages is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Parsons as Chief Commercial Officer, commencing on 1 April 2025.

This is a new role at Asahi Beverages, with the Chief Commercial Officer to have responsibility for the Group’s commercial and sales functions across Australia and New Zealand, covering alcohol and non-alcohol. Nigel will continue to report to Group CEO Amanda Sellers.
